UN Davos — Remote Production Case Study

Client: UN Davos Dialogues · Four-day UN-aligned programme at Davos, Switzerland, January 2026.

SicilyCast ran a complete remote TV control room from Sicily — 1,500+ km from the venue — covering every session of the four-day programme live.

The Challenge

WEF-week venue connectivity is notoriously unreliable, and deploying a full on-site gallery during the Forum is prohibitively expensive. Any visible drop on a UN-aligned live stream would be publicly embarrassing.

The Solution

Four BirdDog PTZ cameras on-site, fully controlled from Sicily — remote pan, tilt, zoom, live shot selection, TV-style cuts, picture-in-picture, lower thirds, audio cues, presentation switching. Bonded fibre plus satellite plus separate LTE under a bonding layer, with UPS on every critical link. The stream couldn’t drop because no single transport failure was enough to break it.

The Outcome

Four days live, every session, zero drops. In-room TV quality with the gallery operating from Sicily, at a fraction of on-site OB-van cost.

Technology
